First of all, if you want to give yourself a boost in reducing your unsightly skin, there is one proven, doctor-tested machine that can give you a head start. This machine is called the Accent, and it was featured on the hit TV show, "The Doctors." They tested the Accent machine out on members of the audience, and the results were amazing! However, they did point out that results varied, and you still have to work hard in order to keep the cellulite from returning. Also, treatments are at least 16 weeks, and costly. If you can afford it though, the Accent does work.
You will be glad to know that certain exercises can greatly reduce cellulite. You may not be so happy to hear that nothing gets rid of cellulite completely, but at least you can minimize it! If you are like most women, the bulk of your cellulite is around your rear and thigh areas. There are 3 main exercises that can help to trim down the "cottage cheese" look:
- Lunges: When done correctly, these will firm and tone your thighs and underneath your rear. Many people do lunges wrong, and this can result in injuries to your knees, ankles and back. When you are in the correct lunge position, your back should be straight, and your back leg should be resting on the ball of your foot. Your front foot should be firmly planted on the ground, and you should push up from your front heel.
- Squats: This exercise will help to tone your upper thighs. It is sometimes helpful to do these in front of a mirror so you can make sure you are in the correct position. Squats are very easy to do - just pretend you are sitting down with your legs farther apart than usual. Make sure you go as far down as you can to maximize your results.
- Leg Lifts: This one can be a bit more complicated, and harder to describe, but bear with me, because leg lifts are perhaps the best solution for cellulite on and underneath the rear. Place a stool or side table beside your sofa. Lie face down on your sofa, with your arms resting on the stool or side table. Make sure that the top half of your body is lower that the bottom half. Then, simply lift your legs, one at a time, as high as you can. If you have ankle weights, these can help as well.
These 3 exercises will reduce your cellulite and give your skin a smoother, firmer look. Don't expect it to stay away permanently though - you have to keep up a regular exercise routine to keep that fat at bay.
