After a nasty headache, the best feeling in the world is getting rid of it. Those who don’t deal well with headaches are typically willing to do just about anything to get rid of it, as well as doing their best to avoid them. Those less fortunate are plagued with chronic headaches, and have to deal with them on a constant basis. What is Headache?
A headache happens when pain-sensitive nerve fibers (called nociceptors) are triggered in the network of nerves that extends over the scalp, face, and along the surface and the base of the brain. Ninety percent of all headaches are triggered by stress or tension. These muscle contraction headaches usually resolve on their own or with the help of over-the-counter painkillers.
